From the Rataque website:
Acoustic Power play is the exciting program that brings R@taque's high-energy percussion music to the worldwide audience. Performances draw on influences from the modern world and take them on a musical and theatrical journey. The performers use nothing but Acoustic objects which can be found in the modern world. Giant chemical barrells, car Hubcaps, PVC pipe, spring water bottles and an assortment of unusual drums are transformed into an interesting set which rataque hit, scrape and bring to life with nothing but their physical energy during their seamless performance.

"Young, dynamic, energetic - Kevin Tuck and Jim McCarthy are R@TAQUE. Presented in the long running Something On Saturday Program at the Adelaide Festival Centre these ingenious percussionists have lots of experience and good rapport with younger audiences. With great audience participation the youngsters were glued to the performance and a lot of fun and learning was had by all."

Nick Skibinski
Something On Saturdays Programming Executive, Adelaide Festival Centre.

"R@taque's performance at McLaren Vale for Stage 3 of the Tour Down Under was nothing less than spectacular. Their energetic performance, with the assistance of local school children, challenged the spectacle of the race and surely was the highlight for many of the spectators and invited sponsors."

Janice Blair
Economic Development Officer, City of Onkaparinga

Many thanks for coming to the victor harbor folk festival, you guys were excellent, and a good balance of kids participation plus your own "speckie" performance.
